Teen Driving Drunk Crashes Into Long Island Home: Police

A teenager driving drunk with another minor in the car crashed into a Long Island home, police said.

A 16-year-old was arrested on DWI charges after he crashed into a Farmingdale home, police said.

A 16-year-old was arrested on DWI charges after he crashed into a Farmingdale home, police said.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 9 at approximately 6:30 p.m. in Farmingdale, according to Nassau County Police.

The 16-year-old boy was driving west on Park Avenue when his 2011 white Chrysler reportedly left the road and hit a house.

When officers arrived on the scene of the crash, they noticed the teen had slurred speech and conducted a sobriety test.

Additionally, a 15-year-old passenger was in the car during the crash. He was picked up from the scene by a family member.

No injuries were reported.

The teen driver was placed under arrest without incident and is charged with the following:

  • Driving while intoxicated;
  • Aggravated DWI;
  • DWI with a child under 16 (Leandra’s Law); and
  • Endangering the welfare of a child.

He is also charged with multiple traffic violations and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court on Monday, July 24.
